Earth Day Celebrations Focusing on Clean Energy

Many Earth Day 2009 celebrations have events focused on clean energy.  Here are just a few:

The Flathead Valley Community College Earth Day Celebration features the Montana premier of the documentary film, Fuel, on April 22.  Winner of audience choice for best documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, FUEL is an insightful portrait of America's addiction to oil and an uplifting testimony of the immediacy of new energy solutions.  Other events include booths on Green Living & Renewable Energy Solutions for the Flathead, kids activities, and an exploration of our national parks.  On April 23, enjoy the day-long conference, Re-powering the Flathead for a New Energy Economy, where innovators, business and government leaders will discuss how to prepare and position the Flathead for an active role in the emerging "New Energy Economy."  Click here for more information.

The Gallatin Earth Celebration is a week-long Earth Day celebration focused on education, outreach, and service. Built around the traditional Bozeman Clean-up Day, the Gallatin Earth Celebration has grown into a larger partnership between MSU, the City of Bozeman, the Bozeman Beautification Board, citizens, and other organizations. The goal is to bring community members together to clean-up neighborhoods, learn what businesses, organizations, public schools, MSU, and the City of Bozeman are doing to confront climate change and help motivate the community to get involved. Numerous events are planned throughout the community from April 18th to the 25th. Click here for more information.
