House committee to consider "The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009"
Urge Rep. Denny Rehberg to support the bill when it comes to the House for a full vote, expected in May.
Chairman Henry A. Waxman of the Energy and Commerce Committee and Chairman Edward J. Markey of the Energy and Environment Subcommittee announced that the Energy and Commerce Committee will hold four days of legislative hearings on the discussion draft of "The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009."
The hearings will examine the views of the Administration and a broad range of stakeholders on the discussion draft. More...
Opening statements begin Tuesday, April 21, followed by three days of panels. The Administration will be testifying on the first day. Former Vice President Al Gore and former Republican Senator John Warner will speak on an April 24 panel entitled Bipartisan Leaders' Views on the ACES Legislation. Gore, former presidential candidate, is the Nobel Peace Prize co-winner for his significant work on climate change. Sen. Warner co-authored a climate bill with Sen.
