Make the Clean Air Promise

FIVE WAYS TO MAKE THE CLEAN AIR PROMISE

“I promise to protect America's children and families from dangerous air pollution.  Because toxics and pollutants such as mercury, smog, carbon, and soot, cause thousands of hospital visits, asthma attacks, and even deaths.  I will support clean air policies and other protections that scientists and public health experts have recommended to the EPA to safeguard our air quality.”

Sign it. Sign the Clean Air Promise postcard, or place the promise on your letterhead and sign, and send it to

MCVEF
PO Box 853
Billings, MT 59103

You may also Sign the Petition Online.

Spread it. Use your social media network to connect with people and ask them to make the promise. Tweeting and posting your support for clean air will help inspire your colleagues, constituents, friends and family.  Sample tweet: “I made the promise to protect clean air for our kids.  Will you join me? #cleanairpromise”

Record it. Make a home video of you and your family making the Clean Air Promise. Do it outside, on a sunny day. Send the link or the file to Eric at eric@mtvoters.org and we’ll include your video on the website.

Publicize it. Make a proactive effort to raise awareness about the assault on clean air. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper highlighting the public health threats of air pollution, or write an OpEd.

Host it. Build a local awareness event to highlight the clean air promise campaign. Invite doctors, nurses, teachers, parents and kids to come learn about public health treats of air pollution. Invite the media. Agree to participate in an event like this for the media.

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO SUPPORT THE CLEAN AIR PROMISE

Ask it. Take every opportunity to challenge our government and political leaders to make the clean air promise. Ask them to promise to protect our kids from harmful air pollution that triggers asthma attacks and heart attacks and threatens lives. Call your Representative, Senator, Mayor, Governor, council representative or anyone in a position of authority and ask them to promise to protect clean air.

Ask questions.  Attend a local town hall meeting led by government leaders. Ask them about supporting clean air standards. Ask them to make the Clean Air Promise.  Let us know what they say.
