We’ve got lots of good news to share in this edition of Congressional Watch!
Montana’s Senators, Max Baucus and Jon Tester, have been busy in Congress this past month, working on behalf of clean, renewable energy, public lands, rural communities and wildlife.
Tune in to the “Action and Opinion” section of Congressional Watch, to find out about Senator Tester’s recent visit with MCV Board and MCV Education Fund staff and members to discuss Congressional Watch and some of the priority federal environmental issues of Montana’s conservation and environmental community.
Also in “Actions and Opinion”, you’ll find news on recent, exciting proposals of both the senators. Find out what Baucus and Tester are working on to promote Montana-grown, renewable energy sources for the country, and how each is working to ensure that Montana's rural schools and communities receive critical funding for education, lands stewardship and community infrastructure.
“Actions and Opinion” also includes a very recent article from the Missoulian, detailing the Senators’ collaborative work to secure millions of dollars for the preservation of key wildlife and rural lands in the northern part of the state.
And in further reports on recent actions to protect Montana’s unique environment, you will find an update on the proposed Cline Mine and some specific actions Senator Baucus has taken to protect Glacier National Park and surrounding wildlands and water from the impacts of this proposed coal mine.
We hope you find this edition of Congressional Watch informative and uplifting to read, as we enjoy reporting on good news and the good work of Montana’s delegation!
