Recently, Representative Dennis Rehberg signed on to co-sponsor an important energy resolution in the 110th Congress. According to the non-profit organization, 25x25, Rep. Rehberg joins Sens. Baucus and Tester, in addition to 23 other senators and 45 representatives, to support the 25x25 Initiative, which aims to derive 25 percent of U.S. energy from renewable resources like wind, solar, and biofuels by the year 2025.
This innovative project was initiated by U.S. farm leaders and quickly gained the support of a broad cross-section of the agriculture and forestry communities. Many leaders from business, labor, conservation and religious groups have also endorsed the effort.
On January 10, the House Resolution (H. Con. Res. 25) was introduced with 25 original co-sponsors and the Senate version (S. Con. Res 3) was introduced with 22 co-sponsors on January 17. For an up-to-date list of co-sponsors and details about the history and goals of 25x25, visit www.25x25.org
In addition to the Resolution, 25x25 will also be recommending its “Implementation Plan” to Congress within the next few months.
Please contact Representative Rehberg and thank him for joining Senators Baucus and Tester as a co-sponsor of the 25x25 Resolution.
