Actions and Opinions: Clean Energy Jobs and Investments under Consideration

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, Sen. Tester heard testimony in the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources from two panels of energy specialists who offered investment ideas for clean energy and natural resources projects and programs to create green jobs and to stimulate the economy.  The intent of the hearing was to discuss a range of energy and natural resources programs that should be considered as part of an economic stimulus package expected to be taken up by Congress early in the next session.  You can view the testimony or watch a video of the proceedings on the Committee web site.

Sen. Tester has proposed legislation to establish a "Renewable Energy Pilot Office" in Montana and five other states to help energy developers get federal permits for renewable energy projects and transmission lines. The bill, cosponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), was introduced in September and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
