On the Horizon: Cabinet Selections Announced
President-elect Obama has announced his Cabinet selections on energy and the environment - picks applauded by the national League of Conservation Voters.
These choices must be confirmed by the Senate and will have a significant impact on clean energy policies promoted by Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund. See LCV's press release on the selections of Steven Chu as Secretary of Energy, Carol Browner to fill a new White House position on energy, the environment and climate policies, Nancy Sutley as head of the Council on Environmental Quality, and Lisa Jackson as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Obama also selected Colorado Senator Ken Salazar to serve as Secretary of the Interior and former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack to serve as Secretary of Agriculture. Sen. Salazar, backed in his successful 2004 election bid by the League of Conservation Voters, has an 81% average voting record on LCV's Congressional Scorecard.
