The Sopris Foundation embraces the traditional Western ethics of self-reliance, hard work, and thrift. We believe that working landscapes beside well-designed, living towns make vibrant communities. Through conferences and dialogues, we stimulate the transatlantic and intercontinental exchange of ideas applicable to citizens, towns, and cooperatives throughout the Intermountain West.
We believe every Western city can be a flagship.
