Billings, MT... On Mar. 18th, the Billings Conservation Roundtable will host Mary Fitzpatrick as she presents an overview of the bipartisan recommendations issued by Governor Schweitzer's Climate Change Advisory Committee (CCAC).  Her presentation will focus on recommendations that local governments can enact without legislative action.

Ms Fitzpatrick was one of the 18 members of Montana's CCAC that contributed to final report was issued on November 9, 2007.  This report gives 54 recommended actions that government and business can take to reduce greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by 2020.  She made a similar presentation to the City of Billings' Energy and Conservation Commission meeting Monday, March 10th.  Ms Fitzpatrick will present the recommendations and also answer any questions attendees may have about them or the report.

The Billings Conservation Roundtable is convened by the Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund (MCVEF) to bring members of the conservation community and the general public together to discuss pressing issues related to conservation, the environment and public health. On average, they meet for brown bag lunches twice monthly on Tuesdays from 12-1:30.  MCVEF is asking all those who attend the meeting on the 18th to bring a small freewill contribution to offset the cost of the meeting facility.

The final report issued by CCAC can be found online at http://www.mtclimatechange.us/.
