Don't miss this event in Billings on August 10th at the Crowne Plaza. 0 Interior Secretary Salazar to speak at 2009 Water Forum
Concerns about water in the West are growing, affecting our sense of well-being and the way we live our lives. The MSU Billings Urban Institute invites you to help address these concerns by participating in the 2009 Water Forum, to be held Monday, August 10 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Billings. To register online, go to http://www.msubillings.edu/water or call Director Chuck Tooley, MSU Billings Urban Institute, (406) 896-5862.
It's impossible to overstate the importance of adequate water supplies for our livelihoods, communities, and environment. The need for new ideas about water consumption and conservation has never been more urgent.
To facilitate open dialog about water topics the Urban Institute has embarked on a series of forums bringing together different interests to discuss water needs and usage. The series was successfully launched in Billings last September and we have an outstanding agenda for the 2009 Water Forum.
Guest speakers include U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, U.S. Senator Max Baucus, and Director of the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Mary Sexton. A panel discussion will feature representatives from agriculture, industry, government, recreation and conservation. The afternoon Stakeholders Conversation will give you and all attendees an opportunity to share insights and thoroughly discuss the water issues in the Yellowstone valley.
The objective of the H2O 09 Water Forum is to increase awareness of water issues and to enable various sectors and interests to work together. Our long-term goal is to ensure the availability of water for generations to come.
Please join us on August 10.
